Jeffrey W. Rubnitz
Founding Partner
Jeffrey W. Rubnitz is the founding partner of RTZ Law and has practiced law in Savannah for over 30 years. Jeff has extensive experience in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, probate law, estate planning and corporate law, and focuses his practice on loan and purchase closings, title examination and title insurance.
Jeff served on the Executive Committee of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia from 2005-2011. During that time, he chaired the Residential Real Estate Committee and served on the Title Standards, RESPA, and the Ethics, Professionalism and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committees. Jeff co-chaired the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s annual Spring Residential Real Estate Seminar at Georgia Public Broadcasting for many years. He is a member of the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association, the Savannah Bar Association, an affiliate member of the Savannah Area Board of Realtors, and has also served on the board of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Savannah. Jeff frequently makes presentations and leads classes on a variety of real estate topics.
Jeff is an active member of the greater Savannah community through his involvement and board service with many charitable and civic organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and as a member of the Executive Committee of Royce Learning Center. He is a past Chairman of Lifeline for Children, graduate of Leadership Savannah, and past member of the Georgia Child Care Council—a Lt. Governor appointment.
Originally from Waynesboro, Georgia, Jeff received his B.A. in Political Science from Emory University and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. Following law school, Jeff clerked with the State of Georgia Attorney General’s office prior to joining Weiner, Shearouse, Weitz, Greenberg & Shawe, where he practiced for 13 years before establishing his own law firm in 1999.
